Handspun : Raking Leaves

"Raking Leaves" from Woolen Mill St Yarns, 100% Superfine Merino. Fingering weight, 2 ply, first skein 183yds/53g, second skein 251yds/57g.

I absolutely loved to spin this fiber. First the colors are gorgeous. Muted blues, browns and gold among snow whites. Second, it was my first time spinning merino. It's so soft, cushy, lofty and bouncy! No wonder merino is a luxury fiber!

Now, what to do with those two beauties... any suggestions?

Thanks! I can't wait to find the perfect pattern and knit them!

Maybe a shawl? Or wrap? 100% merino won't hold up well in a pair of socks.

That yarn is absolutely gorgeous!!!  I love those colors!  I just might have to spin some merino myself!!

The name is so appropriate! I love the unexpected bit of white, unbelievably pretty! I can't wait to see what you make out of it!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I didn't find any shawl pattern that I like enough though...

Merci!

I think that Christina from Woolen Mill really choose the name well! I fell in love with that colorway the moment I saw it!

Maybe you need to design one!

I'm currently thinking about it... something with lots of stockinette to show the yarn and a great detail... *scribbling and sketching*

Tu m'impressionnes!

Beautiful! How about a Bea Schmidt design? I love the Maluka...making one now.

Vraiment magnifique!

Oh that's a amazing pattern! I could really be the one!

Merci!
