Handspun : Raking Leaves

"Raking Leaves" from Woolen Mill St Yarns, 100% Superfine Merino. Fingering weight, 2 ply, first skein 183yds/53g, second skein 251yds/57g.

I absolutely loved to spin this fiber. First the colors are gorgeous. Muted blues, browns and gold among snow whites. Second, it was my first time spinning merino. It's so soft, cushy, lofty and bouncy! No wonder merino is a luxury fiber!

Now, what to do with those two beauties... any suggestions?

  1. Thanks! I can't wait to find the perfect pattern and knit them!

  2. Maybe a shawl? Or wrap? 100% merino won't hold up well in a pair of socks.

  3. J'adore les 2 ply filées à la main.. je n'étais pas sûre que ce soit toi qui les ai filées, au début en te lisant : les deux pelotes sont superbes, magnifiques.. félicitations! :)

  11. I'm currently thinking about it... something with lots of stockinette to show the yarn and a great detail... *scribbling and sketching*
