Hi guys!
Although school and homework are eating all my time, knitting keeps me sane. In stressful situations, knitting is the perfect outlet. But things need to stay simple!
Do you remember my knit worthy friend? The one I was talking about in this post? Well his birthday was in February, and I didn't know what to give him, until I saw that he only had one dishcloth! The morning after I was casting on for some simply simple garter stitch dishclothes. Perfect on-the-go project.
I'm waiting for some secret stuff for secret projects, so in the mean time I casted on the Wispy cardigan from Hannah Fettig. I bought the pattern and the yarn a while ago, so I decided it was the right time. Yes, stockinette stitch is simple, but in Malabrigo Lace? That is for the days I feel good...
Finally, last night I was having a startitis crisis. So not me! I usually finish a project before I cast on for another, or I don't mind having one small project and a bigger project. But last night, I was tired of working on my Wispy cardigan and the dishclothes weren't really appealing. I casted on Aidez cardigan from Cirilia Rose, but I was feeling so bad that I left the cast on row like this. I just couldn't knit another project without finishing my WIPs ...
And you guys, what are you working on? Do you mind working on more than one thing?

Oh, I have to have at least two things on the needles at once. Usually a larger project, such as a sweater, and then a smaller one. Socks are great for that!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? I get restless! =]
Yes, I'm the same. Several projects, both knitting and sewing, on the go at any one time!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your Aidez! I wear mine all the time, it's the perfect sweater!
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought Wispy was just a copy of whisper but the construction seems quite different.
ReplyDeleteMy nature is to have a lot of project at the same time, but I fight it, so I have normally one big project and one small for commuting. In this moment just three and one is almost finished.
I try to avoid having many projects on the go... However, I think that having a big and a small project is ok... Currently, I'm sometimes knitting Thermal, a hat and a pair of mittens! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI get over excited sometimes and cast on several things. Then I get over stressed and have to finish them all off! I then vow that I will only work on one thing at a time. Then I do exactly the same again.
ReplyDeleteJe travaille toujours plusieurs projets à la fois; le crochet, les aiguilles et la peinture. J'alterne selon l'humeur du moment (mental et articulaire!)
ReplyDeleteBon courage pour la fin de session :)
That's some self control you've got! I usually have many projects going at once. Aidez is a beautiful cardi, I have finished mine bar the blocking and seaming but the sleeves are a bit too small so I think I'll do them over again. Take note of the notes on ravelry :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the colors you're using at the moment. Aidez is in my queue, but I'm making myself wait it out. I try to only work on a projects at a time, but my mind is usually five steps ahead of me and planning the next knits. It's a little problematic, but at least I'll be finishing my Effortless Cardi (also from Hannah Fettig) this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI usually like to work on one project at a time, though I'll work on a smaller project on my commute. I find it easier to actually finish projects that way. I do have a lot of UFOs that are waiting to be finished because I ran into some kind of snag and those are hard for me to pick up again...
ReplyDeleteI am a big project, small project--at the most--kinda gal! I just finished a sweater with a large collar, so I decided to take a mini-break and knit a hat. I also just swatched for--tadah--Aidez!! I have my yarn and am ready to start today. I bet you will finish yours in a flash; I probably will not wear mine til next fall.
ReplyDeleteI get too stressed by more than 3 projects! But I do get the urge to cast on every now and then. Then do a giant finish fest!
ReplyDeleteI've got way too many projects on the needles at once, but I always find a good excuse for them (I know: it's pathetic...). Right now I've got: the Emilien cardigan for my boyfriend (he needed a Spring cardigan and this pattern was too cute to resist), 2 pairs of socks (one for me started first, and the other one for a friend's birthday, as I know the colors of the first pair was not the best for her), and a Abalone cardigan for myself (I've got a wedding on Saturday and have to have it to wear over my too-summery dress...). See: I've got a good excuse for all my WIP! And I'm even not mentioning many, many projects hibernating in my knitting bin. I'm a bit ashamed sometimes to be such a mess!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about what pattern my Audrey is: the jacket for everyone out of the book Feminine Knits by Lene Holme Samsoe.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a three projects at a time knitter. I found that's the number I can handle. One usually is not enough for each situation (train knitting, lazy knitting, challenging knitting) and more are too many to be able to get back into the pattern quickly.
Keep the "Endspurt"-mojo going!
